In my life I’ve been very fortunate to have had several mentors! The one that had the most impact was tough but gentle, an extremely successful businessman. On one occasion he made a comment that I took offense “you’re a spendthrift “. I remember my reply ” are you crazy, based on my meager income (newly married and starting out)! His reply “I challenge you to write down every penny you spend for the next 30 days”? I was shocked at the results! There’s an old saying the “truth will set you free”, I prefer the 11th commandment: “thou shall not fake thyself self out”!
